I was the successful high bidder on your Quigley Ford 4-16x60 long range scope at an NRA event in April of 2018. (This company donated these scopes to NRA events) For $200 additional I was able to upgrade to the 5-20x50 scope. The scope sat idle for the next couple of years till I decided and purchased what rifle I wanted to put it on. I went with Browning Hells Canyon Long range 6.5 creedmoor as a host rifle.
These Scopes are custom ground to your rifle caliber, barrel length and particular bullet selection and ballistic coefficient. After testing various ammo,I went with Hornady precision Hunter 143 grain ELD-x ammo. I subsequently mounted it up and went to my range for sight in. The range that I belong to has a Max of 200 yards. I did my due diligence on sight in and was touching a hole at 100 yd and sub moa at 200.
The scope is ground from 100 to 1,000 yd in 100 yd increments. With 100 yd sight in I was pleased that the 200-yard reticle was dead on. The rifle set unfired again until about 2 weeks ago. I planned on taking it on a hunting trip to West Virginia and was offered by a friend to come over to his house and shoot. He has a 600-yard 2'x2' steel plate.
I just did a quick setup using a small sandbag as a rest.
I confirmed with my rangefinder that his claims are exactly dead on 600 yd to the steel plate. A round was fired and my jaw almost dropped when the initial shot was almost dead center. I honestly was in disbelief of that amount of accuracy from something that is never shot beyond 200 yd. I fired a second shop which was about 4 in low towards 4:00.
At this point I was so tickled that I put the rifle in the case and said there's no more need to shoot. It doesn't get any better than this. A lot of people claim to make long yardage shots but I'm here to tell you 600 is a long way.
Just a short comment in closing. I have shot many many rifle scope combinations in my lifetime. This Quigley Ford scope is absolutely as good as it gets. With a good quality shooter sled, I have absolutely no doubt this system would be function as claimed at a thousand yards.
Many thanks Quigley Ford,
Rusty
